Now the conspiracy theorists are saying the Russian government's backing the DDoS attacks on LJ.
I hate to admit that this is the sort of thing I secretly feared when the Russians bought LJ. For the first time in all the years of LJ-related panics, I am genuinely worried about the future of the platform. If it becomes political, fandom as a whole becomes collateral damage, basically. The most obvious place to take refuge is DW, but it's still invite-only, and that's going to keep a lot of people away.
