OpenID works fine over here, but DW is pretty much the same as LJ. Well, old LJ. It's built on the same code, so it's just a stripped-down, fandom-friendly version. It's run by the people who run AO3, I think? I could be wrong about that. Anyway, you get less icons over here, which is a problem for me, but it's better than nothing.
LJ is going to continue to have political problems, seeing as it's Russian-owned now and all, and while I am all for standing up for free speech, if it means no access to fannish things, fandom will have to find somewhere else to live. This is probably the likeliest choice, though I imagine older fen will migrate here and the younger ones will take to Tumblr. And then I will just retire from fandom because I am too old and don't understand Tumblr, and all my problems will be solved.
