Happy Yuletide! It’s the best time of the year, and pretty much my only real fannish participation these days, so I have been looking forward to it a lot. This year is all about nostalgia fandoms for me. All of these are fandoms I’ve loved for a long time, and there’s nowhere near enough fic for any of them.

Veritas: The Quest

Requested Characters: Calvin, Nikko

Calvin/Nikko/hijinks OT3. Throw them off a cliff, get them kidnapped, make them fake!date for a cover, trap them somewhere cold and inhospitable. Bedsharing! Boarding school AU. As tropey as you want, I will take it.

This show only got one 13-episode season and left a lot of loose ends untied. I am still not over it, obviously. I watched the four episodes they bothered to air on ABC, and was thrilled to find the rest of the episodes online. They’re all currently available on youtube.

I’ve shipped Cal/Nikko since 2003. I’m very loyal to my tiny rarepairs, what can I say. The reason I love them so much is because I have a fondness for enemies to friends to lovers, and their dynamic is so well-suited to that. They’re both so jealous of each other for basically the same reason, and the fact that neither of them can see that makes me want to smack their heads together. I mean the Daddy Issues, come on.

They’re both kind of brats, but they manage to overcome that when it counts and work together, so if you felt like doing something with that dynamic I’d love it. I love the Found Family aspects of the show, too. Nikko's Two Dads, Calvin's jealousy of Nikko and Solomon's relationship, the weird sibling rivalry Nikko and Cal have going...I love all of it.

There’s so much opportunity in this canon for Thrilling Adventures. I am terrible at prompts, but I’m going to give it a try this year. So here goes:

There’s a landslide while they’re searching a cave for some missing artifact and they’re trapped together. (Do they ever get to share that sleeping bag?)

Dorna’s chasing them through the jungle; their only option is to jump off a cliff into an unknown body of water

Kidnapped! Then they drive the kidnappers crazy with their bickering. Alternatively, one of them is kidnapped/tortured and the post-rescue H/C? (If you wanted to go dark with it I would not complain.)

Any sort of adventure-related h/c is more than welcome

I've always wondered if Cal had a little crush on Solomon when he was a student. What would Nikko do with that information?

Of course I’m also interested in where the show was going, both vis-a-vis the whole ‘end of days’ scenario they were leading up to, and Nikko’s super powers. Those are pretty big concepts, though, so I’m not prompting for them specifically, mainly because that’s a lot to ask of someone. If it’s something you’re dying to explore, however, I would love to read about it.

My Bodyguard

Requested Characters: Ricky, Clifford

This is my 'I've loved it since childhood' fandom, which makes me a lifelong Ricky/Clifford shipper. I love their friendship, and I love the 'us against the world' vibe the movie provides. The loyalty kink is canon, and I'd love to see how that plays out as they grow up together.

I first saw this movie the year it came out, and for years afterwards it kept floating back into my memory, nagging at me for some reason little pre-teen me didn’t understand. It wasn’t until years later when I finally watched it again that I realized why it stuck with me for so long: it is the greatest love story ever told.

Ricky and Clifford complement one another so well. They draw out the best in each other, from Ricky helping Clifford learn to stand up for himself, to Clifford showing Ricky that he’s worth standing up for. I also love the way Clifford’s family (particularly Grandma Peache) just accepted Ricky as one of their own. The sense of comfort in that dynamic appeals to me on a lot of levels.

Obviously Ricky and Clifford are going to be BFF 4EVA. What happens when Clifford starts thinking about college and Ricky doesn’t? Does Clifford stay in the city so they can still hang out? Or is there long-distance angst in their future?

The setting of NYC in the 80s is so nostalgic and comforting for me, so if you want to treat the city as a character, that would be cool. Ricky and Clifford experiencing the ever-changing city over the years <3333

Ricky teaches Clifford how to fix stuff. If there’s maybe-accidental-maybe-not touching involved, that’s even better.

I enjoy scar worship, so if you wanted to do anything with Ricky’s scars I would be thrilled. I’m sure he has more than just the ones on his wrists from working on his bike and just day-to-day life, if you’d prefer not to deal with the subject of suicide attempts.

I know this is a nostalgia fandom and the characters are youngish in canon, but I am not opposed to porn. At all. It can be awkward first time fumbling, it can be angsty ‘I don’t deserve to be this happy’ h/c, it can be aged-up future fic, it can be old-married-couple or college AU or basically anything you want. I don’t need or expect porn; I’m just saying that if you want to write it, you should 100% feel free.

Touching Evil (U.S.)

Requested Characters: Creegan, Rivers

Basically I want all the H/C for these two. They've both been hurt pretty badly in canon already, but you are more than welcome to hurt them some more.

Another canon doomed to one season! Thanks a lot, USA Network. Most of the episodes are floating around youtube, though they get taken down periodically even though NBC Universal refuses to release DVDs. Fuck off, NBC.

So Rivers and Creegan were basically dating by the end of the show. It’s true! Even Hank said as much. He acknowledged that Creegan was checking up on Rivers while he was recuperating from his near-death experience, anyway, and that’s good enough for me. It’s just my personal headcanon, but I like to think that Creegan just went ahead and moved in with Rivers so he could take care of him until he was out of the woods.

Talk about the perfect set-up for H/C fic. Honestly this entire show is one giant H/C fic. Between Creegan’s brain damage, Rivers’ stabbing, and Branca’s emotional trauma, the opportunities for H/C abound, and I love every second of it. The tone of the canon in general is very dark, which I love, but I also love the lighter moments they gave us throughout. Creegan’s sense of humor is weird and charming, and the way he *cares* so much about the people in his life. I want so much more of that.

Mark’s first case back after his stabbing. Does Creegan mother him or pretend everything’s totally normal? Which is more annoying?

Creegan and Rivers have both faced death. Do they talk about their experiences with that? Does it freak Mark out when Creegan brings it up?

Fake!married/fake!dating for a case

Rivers was around to see Creegan fall apart about losing his daughters. When Creegan gets them back he and Rivers have become friends. How does Rivers fit into that picture?

Creegan and Rivers trapped somewhere during a case. Maybe they’re gunfire. Maybe there’s just a broken elevator. Either way, they’re stuck together whether they like it or not.

One of them is being held hostage by a suspect while the other freaks out/feels hopeless. Feel free to hurt either of them emotionally or physically! Bonus H/C is absolutely welcome.

Requested Characters: Andy, Jimmy

Friends to lovers! Sex pollen! Exploring alien cultures! So many AU possibilities! Did I mention sex pollen? To my knowledge there's one Jimmy/Andy fic in existence, and I wrote it, so this fandom is literally a blank slate.

This book is so perfect for fanworks that I’m really surprised there aren’t more of them. So many pairing options, and the potential for space hijinks is so great. Away missions, meeting new species, Galaxy Quest crossovers, other crossovers...so many possibilities! I want to read them all, and I particularly want to read about them happening to Jimmy and Andy.

I do ship them, so feel free to make it romantic. The goofy smile on Andy’s face when he gets that text from Jimmy! Jimmy’s acceptance of Andy even though he doesn’t trust a lot of people! I love loyalty kink and ‘us against the world’, and their relationship hits all those buttons for me.

The one part of the book I have trouble with is the ending. Andy’s theory that Jimmy’s only there to further Andy’s narrative seems kind of...dismissive, I guess? I have always wondered how Jimmy feels about it. He’s put a lot of trust in Andy, after all, and canonically he’s not someone who lets people in. How does it feel to be relegated to a plot point by his best friend? I also think soulbonding would work especially well for these two, given Andy's whole 'you only exist to tell me I'm right' theory.

What were Andy and Jimmy like at the beginning of their friendship? What was their first conversation like? How did Jimmy charm Andy into helping him with his homework? What exactly happened to cement them as BFFs forever?

Andy’s pretty oblivious to Duvall’s crush on him. Was he as oblivious with Jimmy? How’d that work out?

AUs are canon in the book, so if you’re into writing them, tell me about AU!Jimmy/Andy. It can be as mundane or as fantastic as you want. Magic!Jimmy and Andy. Barista!Jimmy and his favorite customer. College in the 20th century. Renegade rival spaceship pilots.
